The primary purpose of Carmel's Sunday Bible Study classes is
to help people connect in a caring community of Christ-followers. In addition,
these classes help their participants continue in their discipleship journey by
promoting opportunities for to SERVE others through missions activities in
Charlotte and beyond. Missions Leaders work with the class leaders to plan and
implement these activities.

| Class Mission Leaders & Projects Every adult SBS class is encouraged to adopt one local (in Charlotte) and one non-local (beyond Charlotte) organization for which they plan several projects a year. Click here for a complete list of adult SBS classes missions leaders, and missions projects in which these classes are involved. |
Local Missions Service
Opportunities Carmel supports several local ministries through the its ministry budget. Though a class can adopt any local ministry, we encourage classes to adopt a ministry with which the church already has a partnership. | AccessACS Carmel's online database is called AccessACS. The database is available to class leaders like Mission Leaders and makes it easy to obtain class lists, send group emails and find contact information for class members. If you need a username and password, contact Joy Motte, joym@carmelbaptist.org or use the form below. >>Go to the AccessACS Login

What About Money? Carmel has a policy that Sunday Bible Study classes NOT collect money (offerings, class treasuries, etc.) in classes without permission from the Pastor to Adults. There are two major reasons for this: First, nearly one million dollars is budget annually by the church for missions. A unified church budget affords us the best opportunity to strategically plan support for missions efforts. Class members are encouraged to give to the budget offering and annual March to Missions special offering. If everybody at Carmel did this, there would be more than enough to support many mission organizations very generously. Second, we want to make sure that our missions efforts are coordinated. One class may be collecting for something that is already supported by another class or the church missions budget, or there may be a better way to use the funds that a class wants to collect. There is MUCH that can be done simply through personal service and building relationships with those whom we serve. |
