Sundays in Downtown

The Preschool Ministry lays the foundation for the beginning of a child’s spiritual journey.  We use the familiar song “Jesus Loves Me” as a model for our ministry.  As infants and toddlers, preschoolers are intentionally introduced to the names of God and Jesus.  They learn to trust in His existence by trusting the adults that take care of them each week at church.  In twos, threes, and fours, we add the verb ‘love’ to the preschooler’s world.  Through action-packed Bible stories, children see how Jesus loved people.  At ages five and six, “Jesus loves me” becomes personal as the preschooler understands that Jesus loves them enough that He died for their sins.

 On Sunday mornings, preschoolers will be introduced to an exciting new curriculum called “In the Beginning… Growing into a Life of Faith”  Beginning in twos, children will experience a large group time where they will learn easy-to-remember biblical truths through creative teaching, singing, visuals, sound effects and more each week.  Also, children will have small group time where a leader continues to reinforce the key concept through age appropriate activities and games.

Wednesday Nights in Downtown

On Wednesday nights from 6:15 – 7:15 children age 3 to 5 are in a program written just for Carmel preschoolers called GROW.  This program is based on the verse, “Jesus grew wiser and stronger and in favor with God and others.” Luke 2:52  There are 4 components of GROW. The children learn about one each week.

G – Glorify  - A large group worship time for preschoolers is high energy, interactive and led by outside groups.  Preschoolers learn age appropriate worship songs and how to express their worship through movement.

R – Recite – Lots of fun activities help the children learn and memorize scripture.  They paint an inch on a ruler for each verse they learn and watch their sunflowers grow!

O – Others – The focus on others comes through projects to benefit the elderly, shut-ins, widows, disaster victims etc.  These activities help a preschooler learn compassion for those around them.

W – World – The children learn about missionaries and mission work and enjoy activities and a snack that helps them better understand how the children in other places live. 

WEE School
     Carmel ministers to over 825 preschoolers each week through our Weekday Early Education program providing a Christian environment for preschoolers to learn and grow.  WEE School offers care and education for preschoolers 6 weeks until entrance into kindergarten on weekdays from 9:00am – 1:00pm September through May. Our activities help preschoolers grow physically, emotionally, socially, academically and spiritually.  Carmel sees the WEE School as part of its Preschool Ministry and as a service to our community.  Visit our website www.weeschool.org for information on program options and tuition rates.

MOPS: Mothers of Preschoolers
     MOPS helps moms build encouraging relationships in a local group of moms.  All moms who have children birth – completed kindergarten are welcome!  We enjoy fellowship, food, a craft activity and a special speaker on topic relevant to preschool moms.
