Children's Ministry

The baby you held in your arms is no longer small enough to fit in your arms. They want to run on their own feet and express their own thoughts in their own way.  They have so many questions about themselves, about the world, and about God.

The baby you dedicated in front of the church and family is no longer a baby. You have imprinted the love of God through the security and nurturing from at home and as well as in the Preschool Ministry at Carmel .

Now it is our turn (Carmel Children’s Ministry) to come along side with you to encourage and equip you to “impress God’s precepts” in their responsive heart “effectively” and “intentionally” so that your child will come to the crucial decision to accept Jesus Christ to their life as their Savior and Lord and to grow in their faith.

It will never be the intention of Carmel Children’s Ministry to take your position as the primary heritage builder, but instead to be a fellow builder to assist you, share some insight, share skills, and most of all to be your prayer partner to follow God’s master plan for your child.  Carmel Children’s Ministry will provide the following ministry tools “to outfit your family to map spiritual landmarks” in your children’s life.

·         Bible Discovery Class: 4 weeks of parent and child Bible Study Class to prepare for the milestone of Testimony- Accepting Christ and Baptism

·         Masterlife Class: 4 weeks of parent and child Bible Study Class to deepen their walk with Jesus as Lord after they celebrate their first communion and baptism: The milestone of Memorial: Privilege of Participating in the Joy of Communion

·         Generation to Generation: a monthly leaflet by Heritage Builders ( Focus on the Family) will be available for your family to instruct your children “intentionally”. It will provide practical ideas and tips for parents to use for family night, family meal time moments, bed-time blessing and time in the car based on Deut. 6:6-7.

·         Step by Step Parenting: This class will equip parents to understand the spiritual development of children and the conversion of child. It will teach you how to share the Gospel with your concrete-thinking children.

·         Carmel Preteen Parent Retreat: This weekend away retreat is designed for parents and their preteens to celebrate the milestone of Transformation: preparing for Adolescence at a beautiful retreat, High Pastures in Burnsville , NC .  Relationship building games and open discussion related to upcoming changes and issues in their adolescence will be facilitated. A special milestone ceremony will leave a long-lasting impression on your child with  special memories.

Carmel Children’s Ministry will continue to be your faithful partner as your preteen moves to the next stage of crossing into adulthood and embracing a healthy worldview through the middle school years and high school years.

I do pray that the Children’s Ministry will continue to build upon the solid foundation that began with their first milestone: Baby Dedication. I pray, also, that upon this solid foundation, your child will become a godly generation to pass down this precious heritage of faith to their children and generations to come.
