History
of Carmel
Baptist
Counseling
Center

In
1992 Clay Barnes began contract counseling for
Carmel
Baptist
Church
while
serving as pastor of a small mission
church. In 1993, as the ministry quickly grew, Clay
went
to full-time as a contract counselor, and eventually joined the staff at Carmel
in
September of that year
as
Associate Pastor/Director of Counseling Ministry.
As
the ministry grew, part-time counselors were added
to
the Counseling staff. At the beginning of 2000, David
Dixon
was
added as the full time Director of Counseling
for the church. Clay Barnes, as Carmel's Pastor of Caring,
continues
in the counseling ministry and oversees the
entire
Caring Ministry of the church.
The
Carmel
Baptist
Counseling
Center
exists
for the
purpose
of offering the place and opportunity to explore
and
work on issues which distract individuals, marriages,
families and all people from experiencing life as
God
fully intended. Help in exploring and dealing with
these
issues is available to all church members and the
surrounding
community.
